4SITE: Cedar Environmental, a Greentech Lebanese Startup

Cedar Environmental (http://www.cedarenv.com/) will be at 4SITE Forum.

Ziad Abishaker will be presenting on behalf of the company, on one of the 4SITE Shorts sessions (see our special format for startups to present).

But that's not all, Ziad was gracious enough to agree to be a panelist! He's going to be on the panel entitled: Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Investment for Social Impact".

I first heard about the company by chance, through reading a local Lebanese newspaper. As we started compiling a list of cool innovative startups to feature in 4SITE, I felt there were way too many Web startups, and not enough of other sectors.

That's why I got really excited when I approached Ziad and he agreed to be at the event.

For those too lazy to check out his website, the company says it "was established in February 1999 to put the Dynamic Composting TechnologyTM to use in Municipal Solid Waste treatment." with the following mission:

- 100% environmentally-safe treatment of Municipal Solid Waste.
- No burning nor landfilling. We strive for 95% or higher Recycling Rates.
- We will make waste treatment AFFORDABLE for ALL municipalities.
- We are 100% committed to organic agriculture.
- We will support and train farmers in their switch from traditional agriculture to organic and provide them with all necessary certifications.
- We will help farmers sell their organic produce on the local and international markets
